The five committees of the Senate pursue many initiatives to improve the livelihoods of Graduate and Professional School students. Along with many social events and disbursing funds to groups, Senate initiatives have lasting impacts on the greater student body and sometimes even the city.

a fellowship of graduate and professional students devoted to encouraging and supporting promising young scholars to pursue careers in the sciences. The Science Cafe is a gateway for the kids to establish long-standing mentorships with the fellows. We started in 2012 at Yale University and by 2015 our fellows have reached over 600 students in the New Haven community. We have expanded to the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University.
The committee will be working on how to improve mental health services based on the Senate Mental Health Report and Recommendations.
Since Fall 2010, the Senate (through the work of the Advocacy Committee) has offered dental and eye coverage to graduate and professional students. Enrollment begins in August and closes September 15th.
